The stunningly beautiful landscape of Yunnan province in southwestern China encompasses snow-capped mountains, rice terraces, lakes and deep gorges. The region is known for its large number of ethnic minorities.
Xishuangbanna is an autonomous prefecture in China's southwestern Yunnan province, bordering Myanmar and Laos. It's known for Dai culture, distinctive temples and tropical rainforests. Prefectural capital, Jinghong, offers palm-lined streets, and the Tropical Flower and Plants Garden with a large number of fruit trees and blossoms. It is also the major area of tea plantations. The city's Mengle Buddhist Temple is a vast Dai religious complex completed in 2007. The temperature in January is between 50-77ºF with minimum rainfall.

Day 1, Sat Jan 10th
Arrive Kunming (KMG) airport pickup and bike fitting

Day 2, Sun Jan 11th
Depart for Pu'er
Load luggage and bikes at 8:30am. Depart for Pu’er by high speed train or bus. Trip
introduction at 3:00pm. Welcome dinner at 6:00pm.
Meals: Breakfast: Home Inn, Lunch: quick lunch pack. Dinner: Sun Bo Wa King Banquet or
GuangMingDing Restaurant.

Day 3, Mon Jan 12th
Pu'er - PuWen Town - DaDuGang Village
Start riding at 8:30 after breakfast. The elevation is between 850 to 1400M. Ride 43Km to Pu Wen Town for lunch. The first 17Km rolling hills, then drop 300M for 33Km.
Ride 37Km to Da Du Gang Village after lunch. There is a 22Km climbing section, with an altitude increase of about 500M. Then ride the 9Km Dadugang Ten Thousand Acres Tea Garden Rainbow Road to experience the world record Tea Garden, with picturesque scenery and the fragrance of tea.

After breakfast at 9 am, we set off on time. The altitude range is 1380M to 550M. We ride30Km to Forest Leisure Farm for lunch, a downhill and flat road. Then ride 13Km on a flat road into the primeval forest after lunch, and then followed by a 34Km to
Xishuangbanna.

XiShuangBanNan - Crocodile Valley - MengBaLa - MengHai

After breakfast at 9 am, we set off on time. The altitude range is 550m to 1200m. We ride 38km to Crocodile Valley. The first 11km is flat, then we rode 27km to Crocodile Valley for lunch with a climb of about 600m. In the afternoon, we rode 19km on an undulating road to Menghai County, and visited Mengbala Resort and Manhe Big Buddha Temple along the way.

Day 7, Fri Jan 16th
MengHai - HeKai - BanZhang - BuLang Mountain
After breakfast at 8:30 in the morning, we set off on time. We ride 46Km to Banzhang Village. The first 23Km are undulating roads, and then ride 23Km to climb about 800 meters to Banzhang Village for lunch, visited the first village of Banzhang Pu'er Tea, visited the thousand-year-old tea tree, and then rode 30 kilometers to Bulangshan Township, along the way to see the ancient tea tree mountain and experience the culture of the origin of the ancient tea tree.
Laobanzhang Village, with 117 households in the village, is the descendant of the Bulang people (descendants of the ancient Pu people). The Bulang people are the earliest ethnic group in the world to cultivate, make and drink tea. Laobanzhang Village Ancient Tea Tree
refers specifically to the Yunnan compressed tea pressed by the sun-dried green tea of the ancient tea tree large-leaf tree in Laobanzhang Village, Laobanzhang Tea Area, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is known as the "King of Tea" in the industry.
Bulang Mountain is also one of the famous tea mountains, with rich vegetation and fairy mist. The local Bulang language is called "Engong Bulang". It is the main settlement of the Bulang people in China and is named after the tribe.

BuLang Mt. - ManFeiLong - MengLong Town

We ride 36Km to the local specialty restaurant in Manhong Village for lunch. The whole way is downhill, and we can see various Dai Buddhist temples along the way. Then we ride 17 Km to Manfeilong Village, a national ecological civilization village with a history of more than
2,000 years, to see the White Pagoda.

Depart after 8:30 Breakfast. The road is
undulating all day. In the morning, we ride 52km to Menghan Town for lunch. Along the way, there are tropical pastoral scenery and rubber trees. There are 25km of brick-paved traditonal roads. In the afternoon, we go to Xishuangbanna Dai Garden to experience the Water Splashing Festival. On ?Saturday? night, there is a night view of the Lancang-Mekong Starlight in Menghan.

Day 10, Mon Jan 19th
MengHan - ManYuan - MengLun

Depart after Breakfast at 9am. We ride
9Km to Manyuan Village, one of the ten most beautiful villages in China, for lunch and experienced Dai culture such as slow-wheel pottery making and handmade papermaking. After lunch, we ride 40km to Menglun Town. The first 18Km had a climb of about 220 meters, and the last 23km was an undulating downhill road.

Day 11, Tue Jan 20th
MengLun Town - YiWu Town
ride by car or bus - Yiwu, a traditional industry of Mengla County, is the place where tea developed. The tea industry was its main economic industry with great achievement. Yiwu is one of the six ancient
tea mountains, the origin of "Pu'er Tea" and "Seven Cake Tea", and the source of the "Ancient Tea Horse Road" between Yunnan and Tibet.

Day 12, Wed Jan 21st
YiWu Town - MengBan Town - Parashorea Chinensis Park

We set off on time after breakfast at 8:30.
We ride in the primeval forest all day. In the morning, we ride 56Km to Mengban Town. The first 14Km are long downhill, and the altitude drops by 600 meters. Then there is an 23.6Km climb, about 610 meters, and then ride 19 kilometers downhill to Mengban Town for lunch.
After lunch, ride 22 kilometers on a flat road to the Wangtianshu Scenic Area. Experience Dai tie-dying and American coffee, and have a bonfire party in the evening.

We set off on time after breakfast at 9 am. We ride 11Km to Manlongle. Then ride 33Km to Dalongha Village for lunch, and after lunch, we visited the beautiful Dai village of Dalongha. In the afternoon, we ride 20Km to Mengla County.
