We’ll offer not one, not two, but THREE routes:

​

• The Strawberry Shortcake miles  PDF 14  +/ -  (846 ft)

This route is sweet, taking you quickly onto gravel on the Airport Rd. backside, leading you eventually around to Larkin Valley Rd. with horses, goats and hawks eyeing you before you begin your climb up the bumpy and historic Old Adobe Rd. (look on the corner for "The Calfee ChillShack" spinning tunes and snacks, but don't stop yet--it will be there when your loop is almost over).

At the end of Old Adobe is an aromatic surprise awaiting you to ride--within a large nursery! Look for the sign, consult with the rider marshall/gatekeeper if needed, stay on your route AND don't forget that all riders must be out of the nursery before 10 am!

 

Carefully cruise back down Old Adobe and take a LEFT turn right after the *Calfee ChillShack Mobile RV, climbing up Buena Vista Rd..From atop you will  soon be riding on more dirt/gravel on an organic strawberry field before returning back down via a horse ranch (fenced, of course); From there on Larkin Valley Rd., you can either go back a few hundred yards towards Old Adobe Rd. to stop at the *Calfee ChillShack Mobile RV to grab some well-deserved coffee and snacks, music and vibes, or continue home on your return route celebrating with lunch and stories of your feats at Pajaro Valley  High School!

• The Strawberry Patch    PDF  42 miles +/ -  (1,548 ft)

This ride is much different than the 'Strawberry Shortcake' route, kind of savory:  Within the first mile you'll begin riding on the slough, in fact lots of slough paths, until you pass under Highway 1 and make a left onto Lee Rd.. From there you'll end up riding thru a large farm with gentle hills and strawberry fields of wide paths until suddenly, you pop onto San Andreas Rd.

​Calfee Design headquarters awaits your arrival with snacks, coffee and bathrooms. ​

Taking the levee further up,  you'll encounter it's surfaces of gravel and paved paths for some miles until you wrap around the river turning Right onto College Ave. From there, more scenic pastures  and apple orchards meld into the anticipation of Gizdich Pie around the bend for your last stop.With enough newly stocked energy in your systems, you'll get to enjoy returning with another slough of gravel, paved and dirt paths before jumping back onto low traffic streets, and crossing the finish line with a sense of accomplishment with your new friends and meal to order!

• The Strawberry Hill   PDF 55 miles + / - (2,190ft)

 The longest route, it has the best of both berry worlds! In fact, it IS both routes put together, so you'd berry be ready to dig in for the fun of conquering both routes.

​

Starting at PV High, your journey begins by starting with the Strawberry route which returns to PV High after 12.5 miles, continuing onto  the Brambleberry Route!  

 

After those combined miles you might feel it in your legs and lungs, a sort of pain harvest, a touch of hell on the 'Strawberry Hill' route...but be ready for some tasty Mexican chow and the strawberry fixings back at PV High School.  ​​

Bike Recommendations:
For safety and comfort, use tires at least 32mm (1 1/4") wide (wider than road bike tires). Mountain bike tires are typically wide enough.

​

Registration:

Sign-ups open after March 14th. Routes will be revealed later due to permits and landowner agreements. Please respect private property and stay on designated paths—violators will be banned from future events.
